top 12 of 2008:

---only because i had a really good year & i couldnt keep it to 10 haha (NO ORDER)



1. blogspot.com and blogging in general- even if no one reads what i am saying, i still feel like im getting my point across. the only place where i can post numerous pictures of jason mraz and swoon or talk shit on people. thanks for that. my hats off to you blogging :)

2. twilight books- (note: didnt finish the 3rd.....yet) eventhough i thought the movie flunked miserably, which i already knew there was no possible way it could EVER live up to these books, the books are truley amazing. no one can make a vampire-human-warewolf love triangle so relateable.

3. foile a deux release- these guys have yet to dissapoint me with their amazing music. the only band that can completely change their sound but still sound exactly the same.

4. mariah genae monjes- baby :) your not even 2 months yet and im already extremely jealous of you.

5. barak obama- finally! this election sure had me shakin in my boots! i remember when people would ask me why i backed obama so much i gave them a few facts of why i did but more of my answer revolved around how powerful his spoken word is, and how much no one person has ever made me believe and have faith in our society so much. as much as i always hoped i would, i neer thought i would actually get into politics but this year i couldnt keep myself out of it. i could watch him speak forever. barak and roll. im so excited to see things happen.

6. seeing Jimmy Eat World, Paramore, and Dear and the Headlights on april ninth at the memorial auditorium- i finally got to the gate on this one! & plus there werent as many annoying little 13 year olds that i wanted to punch in the face as there were last time i saw paramore at the warfield. got introduced to another really good bad too, dear and the headlights. also, taking amanda to the front and throwing her into those people were priceless moments.

7. invention of the bagelful- the perfect snack at the perfect time. in many various flavors :)

8. me being introduced to Thai cafe & Wok-in- i can never get enough of these places. if i dont want one i want the other. if you ever spend a day or two with me you will probably hear me say the name of one of these places at least twice. and how nice are they for making non-vegitarian food vegitarian. more of my money has gone to these places then they have on gas for my car!

9. eco-consciousness- watching california slowely turn into a eco-conscious place is amazing. "only at the climax of our problem do we make the decision to change our ways" or something along those lines, from: The Day The Earth Stood Still. now just the rest of the US, then the rest of the world. we change if we want to. sadly, i dont think we all want to yet.

10. discovering bands and artists (not necessarily new or the first time i listened to them, just more like i actually payed attention to their amazing ability to play great music) - this was definatly the year! now introducing.... Hey Monday, The Cab, Lil Wayne, 3OH!3, All Time Low, The Audition, Envy On The Coast, Charlotte Sometimes, Chiodos, Scary Kids Scaring Kids (officially one of my favorite bands of all time now), David Cook, Demi Lovato (i dont care what you think, her voice is crazy insanly good), The Devil Wears Prada, Dustin Kensrue, Four Year Strong, The Hush Sound, Jimmy Eat World, Katy Perry, The Maine, The Material, Pathway To Providence, Mayday Parade, One republic (one of the best albums of 2008, i can honestly say i listened to their album Dreaming Out Loud 10 times repeatidly and never got sick of any of the songs), Pierce The Veil, The Rocket Summer (where would i be without you?), We The Kings, Waltz Reprize (RIP :[), The vitamin Strings Quartet.

11. finally getting a grip on my art skills- i finally started to own my drawing and painting skills and realizing what i can create when i dont think so much. Surrealistic statements are my thing now.

12. keeping up with paramore and TAI all year!- as creepy as this may sound. i feel i know them really good. Going through school on mondays getting more and more excited to go to amandas after school and Watch TAI TV was the best. Watching all the 'paramore goes crazy' videos definatly gave me some laughes... who am i kidding?! those videos gave me 685798473227893 laughs..... in maybe about 5 minutes of video time. Seeing TAI on MTV is definatly bittersweet. no one wants to see thier favorite bands get sucked into the world of fakes and liars, but then again, im soooo super proud of them for getting so far in 08. paramore EXPLODED in 2008! its insane! i remember when the pressure video for thier 'all we know is falling' album came out and i was facinated by the way hayley held the mic. then the next day when i went to buy the album i couldnt find it anywhere because they werent really that known. it took me forever to find that cd. but now you can find riot at almost any store and paramore merch all over hot topic walls. its so crazy! but as i said already, im super proud of them! they make amazing music, there was nothing but bright stars and lights in their future.
